It's been a busy week of baking here at the Family Cake Company.  We've made some really beautiful cakes this week.. well I say 'we' but I actually had very little to do with any of it other than my usual seal of approval (that's the best bit at the end of the day)

My favourite (which sadly I didn't get to taste, bride would have been less than impressed) was a stunning 3 tier wedding cake decorated with gorgeous berries & white chocolate curls. You can see a photo of the vision of deliciousness on our web site.

As well as the important job of tasting (who said 'no one' is indispensable!??)  I had a chance to meet with a perspective wedding cake client at Bar Italia in Soho last week.   A treat for me; since having children my last coffee of the evening on the pavements of Frith St are a thing of the past.  I'll settle for mid morning meetings there instead.  The eclectic folk you'd usually find sipping a late night latte are probably all tucked up in bed at 11am & the attire of the clientele is somewhat more sober, however the coffee is just as rich & creamy & certainly worth every pretty penny... along with talk of a delicious chocolate sponge, with chocolate ganache & raspberries, all in all a pretty civil way of spending a Friday morning I'd say!
