Here at the Family Cake Company, it has been a positive week despite the same boring frustrations ...  you guessed it, we're still not operational due to the simple yet impossible for us to overcome fact that WE STILL HAVE NO POWER!!!!  Never mind, I have a great deal of faith in the wonderful people at EDF Energy, & I just know deep down that they are doing everything they possibly can to plug us in so to speak....

Anyway!!!!... in the meantime... back at the ranch.. Dan & Mireille decided that coffee, cakes & conversation were required to boost & maintain sugar levels & moral.  So of to my favourite Islington eaterie/ cake shop we go (again!!), all in the name of research you understand

I opt for my usual passion fruit meringue tart much to Dan's disgust... not because he doesn't think is a delicious & worthy choice... because it really really IS... but because "we're never going to get new ideas & work through the entire repertoire if you (me!!!) keep ordering the same cake!!"  SOOoo obviously he orders something different... Spiced apple & nut slice.... it's beautiful, sticky & moorish but he says the apple, amaretto tarts we make are definitely tastier.
